Symptoms: Cause:
Incompatibility with various SMTP Server configuration settings.
Resolution:
Create a Virtual SMTP that relays the mail to the users existing SMTP Server using IIS.
Step 1.
- Open Internet Information Services
- Click Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Internet Information Services
Step 2.
- Drill down to the Default SMTP Virtual Server and select the Domains directory.
Step 3.
- Right click on the Domains directory and select New > Domain. From the New SMTP Domain Wizard choose Remote and click Next.
Step 4.
- Fill in your domain name as desired, example (yourdomainname.com, dovico.com) and click the Finish button.
Step 5.
- Your new domain now appears in the right hand explorer pane of the Internet Information Services window.
- Right click on your new domain and select Properties.
Step 6.
- Put a check in "Allow incoming mail to be relayed to this domain" Choose "Forward all mail to smart host"
- Fill in the IP Address of the SMTP Server in [brackets] - example [192.168.0.1]
Step 7.
- Login to DOVICO Timesheet.
- Open the Database Options Windows and select the Notifications Tab.
- In the SMTP Server text box fill in the address of the new Virtual SMTP Server.
- If the new Virtual SMTP Server has been created on the same server that DOVICO Timesheet has been installed on, the address will be 127.0.0.1
Users do not receive any emails through the DOVICO Job Scheduler or Instant Email Notifications for rejected time entries or when there is time to approve. The Event view displays Application Errors from DOVICO Timesheet stating Error 250 Recipient Found
