DV1172 - Windows 2008 Server Installation issue (IIS is not installed)

This article applies to:

• DOVICO Timesheet version 9 on Windows 2008 Server

Symptoms:

Error:  "DOVICO Timesheet requires that Internet Information Service 5.0 or greater is installed."

Cause:

Internet Information Service is not installed or not installed with the proper features.

Resolution:

1. Select Start / Control Panel.
2. Go to Programs and Features.
3. From the left-side task bar select Turn Windows Features On or Off.
4. Under Server Manager select Roles.
5. Under Roles select Add Roles.
6. Add Roles Wizard will appear.
7. Select next on Before You Begin window.
8. Under Server Roles section of the wizard check Web Server (IIS)
9. Select OK on Add Required Features button.
10. Select Next.
11. Select Next on Web Server (IIS)
12. Under Role Services check ASP.NET
13. Select Add Required Role Services. It will check the following by default.
    
    
    • NET Extensibility
    • ISAPI Extensions
    • ISAPI Filters

    Under IIS 6 Management Compatibility make sure the following sub-items are checked.

    
    
    • IIS 6 Management Console
    • IIS 6 Scripting Tools
    • IIS 6 WMI Compatibility
    • IIS 6 Metabase Compatibility
      

15. Select Next.
16. Select Install.  (Insternet Information Services will now install)
17. Try reinstalling DOVICO Timesheet

Note:  If you are using Windows 2008 64bit.  The reports in DOVICO Timesheet will not work.  Please find the knowledge base DV1147 to resolve the reports issue.
