DV1111 - VISTA & Windows 7 Installation issue (IIS is not installed)

This article applies to:

• DOVICO Timesheet on Windows Vista, Windows 7

Symptoms:

Error: "DOVICO Timesheet requires that Internet Information Service 5.0 or greater is installed."

Cause:

Internet Information Service is not installed  or not installed with the proper features.

Resolution:

Below are instructions on how to install Internet Information Service with the proper features to install DOVICO Timesheet.

9. Select Start / Control Panel.
10. Go to Programs and Features.
11. From left-hand task bar select Turn Windows Features On or Off.
12. Click Continue or enter your credentials (if you have User account control turned on).
13. From the Features tree, drill down to Internet Information Services.
    Drill down to Web Management Tools.
14. Check IIS 6 Management Compatibility.
15. Expand IIS 6 Management Comapatibility and make sure the following sub-items are checked.
    
    
    • IIS 6 Management Console
    • IIS 6 Scripting Tools
    • IIS 6 WMI Compatibility
    • IIS Metabase and IIS 6 configuration compatibility
    • Check IIS Management Console.
    
    
16. Under World Wide Web Service expand Application Development Features and ensure the following items are checked.
    
    
    
    • NET Extensibility
    • ASP.NET
    • ISAPI Extensions
    • ISAPI Filters
    
    
17. Under World Wide Web Service expand Common Http Features and ensure the following item is checked.
    
    
    
    • Static Content
    
    
18. Click OK.
19. Try reinstalling DOVICO Timesheet

Note:  If you are using Windows Vista 64bit.  The reports in DOVICO Timesheet will not work.  Please find the knowledge base DV1147 to resolve the reports issue.
